Rehabilitation has freshly seen many practical, theoretical innovations and new proofs for specific interference, but the major advances in rehabilitation are theoretical rather than practical. Firstly, the access to patients has moved from a chiefly medical one to one in which psychological and sociocultural aspects are given equal importance. Secondly, the need for coordinated specialist rehabilitation services—for example, for neurological disabilities-is being recognized.
